Plan Ahead! Areas of Focus at TYPO

With so much going on during the conference, we recommend planning ahead to make the most of your TYPO experience.

Here’s a guide to what’s happening during TYPO SF Focus!

Typekit Studio: The Typekit Studio is a portable stamping station, where people can experiment hands-on with type. The rubber stamp alphabet contains some of their favorite display typefaces, and they’ll supply all the paper and ink pads you need. Just show up and play!

Monotype Device Lab: Interact with our devices showcasing the latest technologies, demonstrating cross-platform user experiences and how type impacts the way we consume content.

Breather Charging Station: Take time to relax and recharge near the west staircase in the theater terrace. Learn how you can access your own peace and quiet on demand while giving your devices, and yourself, an extra power boost.

YBCA’s Exhibitions: During the conference, all of YBCA’s galleries will be open and free to conference attendees. Guests are invited to walk through the exhibits and installations. For exhibit information check out:http://www.ybca.org/calendar

Storyboard: A new approach to covering the creative world across all media, with a focus on the one thing that creatives of every stripe hold in common: a need to tell a story in the most efficient and creative way possible. Grab the latest Storyboard magazine and inspire others with your favorite letter interpretation. Brought to you by VMA, a professional organization for creative, marketing and printing companies.

Coffee breaks: We’ll host complimentary coffee, tea, and snacks from 4-5 p.m. during both days of the conference. Located in the Theater Terrace, attendees will have the chance to mix and mingle in between speaker sessions.

TYPO After Party: Get ready to work your rhythm out on the dance floor! Speakers and attendees are invited to mix and mingle the After Party at Public Works (161 Erie St.) from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday. First drink is on us, and there will be a cash bar and food available for purchase. Limited tickets for non-attendees will be available at the door for $20 until 10 p.m. Admission includes your first drink. *21+ event.

Cooper Open Studio: On Thursday, April 30th, our sponsor, Cooper, invites TYPO attendees to their space at 85 Second St, 8th Floor from 7-9 pm for an open house. Just bring your badge!
