The work I have done for BBC World in rural India and my more esoteric typographic books for Tara Press, India. But I don’t have a style. I would hope that any work I do represents my approach which I would say is to be relevant to my client (not the one paying me but the one for whom my work/communication is finally intended).
What inspires you?
People: their habits, passion, behaviour
India: its intensity and love for life, colour and food
Which character/letter would you take to a deserted island?
The Tamil character ஃ or ‘āytam’ which is neither a vowel nor a consonant.
TYPO Berlin 2011: What are you especially looking forward to?
My German visa which will allow me to attend the conference.
Your favorite TYPO-moment?
Choosing a German moment in my memory: When I was doing my MA in London and discovered that the college font library had this beautiful (and relatively new) typeface called ‘Meta’. I used it for all my final year work.

folks – we need rathna to be and speak and breath in berlin. do everything you can to asure she is getting this damn visa to get into germany. what is this visa-border-thing anyways? why shouldnt she be here? being a typographer would be a bad cover-up for a terrorist, wouldnt it?
