Where does TYPO Berlin take place?

TYPO Berlin takes place at House of World Cultures (HKW), which is located right next to the Federal Chancellor’s Office, in the middle of Tiergarten and opposite the main train station Hauptbahnhof. The bus line 100 stops in front of the conference center, the main train station (Hauptbahnhof) is a 10 minute walk away.

What’s included in my ticket?

For those who have to plan their trip: the lectures will begin on Thursday at 2 pm (registration possible from 10 am) and end on Saturday evening at 9 pm. After that, the party begins! Program subject to change. Errors and omissions excepted.

Is there Wifi at the conference?

Of course, there is free Wifi for attendees at the TYPO venue. Our official social media hashtag is #typo18!

Where do I get my conference badge?

The ticketing takes place on the 1st floor of the House of World Cultures. On presentation of your registration confirmation (and student id when you bought a student ticket) you get your TYPO Berlin badge. Registration will start on Thursday at 10 AM. Come on time to avoid long queues. With your ticket you also get our cool conference bag with goodies and the printed programme.

Translation of lectures

The presentations on TYPO Hall and TYPO Show will be simultaneously translated by professional interpreters. From German to English or from English to German. You’ll find the headphones for the translation on the 1st floor next to the wardrobe / registration.

How do I book a workshop?

Not at all! All workshops are free to visit with a TYPO ticket. Places are limited: First come, first served. The workshops will take place in the foyer and in the “Nest”.

Catering

You don’t have to make the long journey to the next snack bar in the city. Lunch on Friday and Saturday and coffee on all three days is included. Find the lunch break time on your ticket. Lunch is served in the restaurant Auster, the coffee break will be held on the roof terrace when good weather. During the whole conference the Restaurant Auster and Hirschfeld Bar are available for food and drinks at restaurant cost.

There will be snacks available at the Get-together on Thursday night and TYPO Night on Saturday.

What is MyTYPO?

TYPO Berlin happens on 5 stages at the same time. All the talks of TYPO Hall and TYPO Show will be recorded so that you don’t miss anything. As a TYPO attendee, you can watch them later in our new video archive. Log in with MyTYPO. The registration for MyTYPO was sent to you after the ticket registration by mail.
